Meet Rajesh, a 23-year-old from Purkhas Rathi Village. Rajesh grew up in a supportive family environment with seven members and completed her 12th-grade education at a local school in her village. Alongside her studies, she learned sewing and managed household chores. Despite her efforts, the limited educational opportunities and basic facilities in her village posed significant challenges. A year after completing her 12th grade, Rajesh was married in 2018, following her family’s wishes. After marriage, she focused on managing her household responsibilities and was unable to pursue further education. Rajesh is married to Rinku Jangra, and they have two children: a three-year-old son in P.P. One and a one-year-old daughter.
Rajesh learned about the LIFI organization through Kapil Jangra. She is currently in her second year of a fellowship with LIFI, where she teaches children in Purkhas Rathi Village and conducts classes in local schools. Rajesh regularly gathers information about the children’s educational progress and their learning needs. Highlights of Rajesh’s Impact: Pride in Teaching: Rajesh takes great pride in balancing her household responsibilities while educating the children of her village. Raised in a farming family of six, her path to education changed when Munna Bhaiya, president of the Jan Adhikar Center, visited her home and inspired her parents to support her studies. This pivotal moment led her to Patna and opportunities through the Jan Adhikar Center and C.S.E.I. As a fellow with the Bihar Ambedkar Student Forum, she became the first girl from her Dalit community to teach underprivileged children in her village, overcoming significant challenges. Rajmuni's journey continued with the Sajhe Sapne initiative, where she completed a transformative course as a Primary Maths Educator.
