Creating a pathway from the community to the school for children pushed out of the education system and helping them retain in schools.

At LIFI, we believe that no single organisation can solve India’s education crisis alone. The challenges are too widespread and deeply rooted. That’s why we focus on scaling our ideas—not just our operations. Through strategic partnerships with non-profits, we co-create local solutions that strengthen student learning and build the capacity of youth leaders (community teacher leaders). Our LeAD UR India Program is at the heart of this approach, enabling partner organisations to become part of a larger collective. Together, we’re working towards our vision: every child in India having a youth leader supported by LIFI—either directly or through our partners.

LIFI’s Journey with Partnerships

At LIFI, partnerships have grown organically—often sparked by aligned missions and shared intent, rather than a rigid strategy. Over the years, we’ve collaborated with grassroots organisations that bring deep contextual understanding, allowing us to co-create meaningful, community-rooted education interventions.

LeAD UR India Program Partners

These organisations have worked directly with LIFI through our flagship LeAD UR India Program:

  • Udbodh – Uttar Pradesh
  • Koshish Charitable Trust – Bihar
  • Kayantar Foundation – Haryana
  • Vichar Samiti – Madhya Pradesh
  • Asaadharan Foundation – Gujarat
  • Diksha Foundation – Bihar

LIFI’s partnerships are rooted in trust, co-creation, and mutual learning. Whether under the LeAD UR India umbrella or through customised collaborations, each partnership brings us closer to our shared vision: ensuring every child in India is supported by an empowered local youth leader.

Highlights of LIFI’s Partnerships: Impact, Learning & Growth

LIFI has expanded its impact across diverse geographies—not by growing its own footprint, but by empowering others. Our partnerships have enabled grassroots organisations to strengthen their education interventions, while deepening LIFI’s own understanding of on-ground realities.

Collective Reach:

  • Students Reached: 3,000+
  • Teachers/Volunteers Supported: 50+

Shared Learning, Strengthened Interventions

Each collaboration has been a two-way learning journey. While partners gained support in building stronger student interventions and systems, LIFI deepened its understanding of field-level operational challenges.

Generally, through the partnership, LIFI takes the following responsibilities:

  • Providing student curricula support
  • Training to the Fellows (Community Teacher Leaders)
  • Site visits to observe the Fellows and give instructional feedback
  • Monitoring and Evaluation of the student outcomes

The partner organization takes the following responsibilities:

  • Implementation of the curriculum
  • Raising funds for the program intervention in their own contexts
  • Running a contextualised intervention for the children and Fellows of their own contexts

The shared responsibility of both organizations include:

  • Understanding the needs of the Fellows and the students
  • Reflecting on the partnership – what is working well and what needs to be improved
  • Aligning on the expectations based on the program requirements

Capacity Building for Emerging Leaders

Many of our partner organisations are led by passionate second line leaders (Program Managers) with little formal academic background. LIFI has played a critical role in helping them set up foundational structures—from classroom practices to curriculum design.

Strengthening the CTL Ecosystem

Several Alumni Community Teacher Leaders (CTLs) continue to contribute to our mission, both within LIFI and in partner organisations.  CTLs have grown into confident educators who:

  • Plan lessons effectively
  • Facilitate engaging, inclusive classrooms
  • Assess learning outcomes meaningfully
  • Reflect regularly to improve their practice
